Additional Golden State Warriors Info

Founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, the Warriors won the very first Basketball Association of America (BAA) championship in 1947 and won its second championship, this time as part of the NBA, in 1956. However, the team wouldn’t see much more success in Philadelphia and after trading away the legendary Wilt Chamberlain, the team relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1962. They took on the city’s name for a few years before officially becoming the Golden State Warriors in 1971. Under the leadership of Jamaal Wilkes and Rick Barry, the Warriors returned to being title contenders, and won their third championship in 1975, sweeping the heavily-favored Washington Bullets in 4 games. It’s largely considered to be one of the biggest upsets in NBA history.

Golden State Warriors Ticket Holders would see their team struggle for several years after that championship. The 1990s saw the team improve dramatically with the rise of stars Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin, often referred to as “Run TMC”. However, the talented trio couldn’t bring home another championship.

The team’s fortunes changed in the 2010s, with all-stars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green leading the team to an NBA Championship in 2015. Kevin Durant joined the Golden State Warriors and helped propel the team to back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018.

The Golden State Warriors hold several NBA records. They have registered the best ever regular season, have the most wins in a season (regular and post-season combined), and the best ever post-season run. The team is tied with the Chicago Bulls for third-most championships in NBA history.

Golden State Warrior Ticket Holders watch “the Dubs” at Oracle Arena, hoping the team can pull off a three-peat. Golden State Warriors fans can get their tickets from, who else, but Golden Tickets?
